Originally built by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil on November 19, 1801, the Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shri Ganesh located in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Despite being one of Mumbai’s richest temples, the current generations of Patils havebeen driven to the edge of despair and currently reside close to the temple in impoverished conditions. The temple boasts a small mandap (hall) with the shrine for Siddhi Vinayak ("Ganesh who grants yourwish") and wooden doors leading to the sanctum that have intricately carved sculptures of the eightdifferent forms of Lord Ganpati in the state of Maharashtra and it is commonly known as Ashtavinayak. The sanctum's inner roof is gold plated, with a statue of Ganesha in the center. A temple commemorated in honor of Lord Hanuman is situated nearby.
